Can You Name All 35? Meet the Herd & Family Trees at Horses by Jose

When guests visit our ranch in La Misión, they quickly fall in love with their equine partner. But what many visitors don't realize is that almost every horse in our 35-horse herd shares a deep family connection with the horse standing next to them!

Because we breed, raise, and train our horses right here from birth, our ranch is truly a multi-generational family affair. From seasoned lead horses to energetic young colts, here is a look at the personalities, family ties, and names that make up our herd.

Friend of the ranch Anthony has been diligently working on creating a family tree poster for us

The Ranch Family Ties

1. The Matriarchs & Patriarchs

These are our seasoned leaders who passed down their surefootedness, calm temperaments, and gentle nature to the next generation.

• Chipilona - mare

• Charita - mare

• Doc - stallion

• Diablo - stallion

2. Famous Siblings & Lineages

Growing up in the pastures together, you'll often see these brothers and sisters grazing and working side-by-side:

• Mili, Tormenta, Choco : Full sisters, daughters of Charita and Doc

• Zeus, Chacorta and Alegria: Offspring of Chipilona - three different colors, all the same mom!

3. The Youngsters & Colts

Our newest additions who are learning their ground manners, wearing their first halters, and getting used to ranch life alongside David and the team:

• Pasadita, Sorpresa and Chulita: Insperable corral mates - Pasadita and Sorpresa are sisters from their dad Coco.

• Potranco, Gavilan: Like Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer - always up to something! Brothers from their dad Tio Oro
