What to know before you ride:

  • Who can ride: Our rides are suitable for all ages and experience levels. Children 4 and under ride on the horse with a parent. We do not have an official weight limit, but please let us know if you think this might be a concern.

  • Special needs: Please let us know if you have any special needs so that we can work to accommodate them.

  • What to bring: You will be most comfortable in closed-toed shoes and long pants. Backpacks or large purses can be left in your vehicle while you ride.

  • Arrival time: Please make sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled ride time. If you are more than 15 minutes late we cannot wait for you.

  • Transportation: If you are coming from the cruise ship let us know so that we can arrange for a licensed taxi to provide transportation to/from the cruise ship port. (There is an extra charge for this.) You can find more info here.

  • Parking: We have secure parking inside the ranch. When you arrive pull inside to park.

  • Cancellation policy: All of our rides are by reservation. We require an $50 dollar deposit to reserve your ride. Deposits are fully refundable (minus PayPal commission charges) within 3 days of your scheduled ride. Within 1-3 days of your ride if you need to cancel we can give you credit toward a future ride. There is no refund on cancelations within 24 hours of your ride.

“I went horseback riding with my husband and daughter and can't recommend Horses by Jose enough! We are all new to horseback riding so, at first we were a little nervous. It took less than 2 seconds after meeting Jose, Erin and the horses to feel comfortable and that we were in expert hands.
On the ride, we were accompanied by Jose and his son, 1 in front and 1 in back so they could watch us and the horses closely to make sure all was ok. The ride took us through breathtaking views of the mountains and then a ride on the beach. Jose and Erin are gracious hosts who know and love the area. This made for a memorable, fun experience !”
